there's nothing more offensive to a comfortable person than the idea someone might experience consequences, social or otherwise, for doing awful things to maintain their comfort
Just thinking... we give so much attention (as we should!) to the victims of state violence, ie, people sent to CECOT.
But, we give little consideration to the psychic violence suffered by those tasked with carrying out the physical violence.
Yes, they "chose" those jobs. But...

A lot of the AI craze among men is that we now have an entire generation since women in America were guaranteed to be able of full financial independence from men; men, old and young, resent us for taking their perceived patriarchal birthright to coercive power over us away from them.
