I think Baldwin’s quote about “the children are all ours” can be expanded into a very powerful revolutionary praxis. Take care of other people’s children, not just your own. Don’t define yourself as “childless,” the children need you. A community approach to children is central to liberation
I’m going to keep it real and hope I don’t get accused of overstating the issue; children’s liberation is the key to the future you want. The active, and often dismissed, oppression of children is near the root of what ails us as a nation.

Really coming to appreciate that what was fun about twitter was that everyone was on there and that even though bluesky is in many ways the same thing, it’s just full of nerds who want attention

Before he died, when I posted about how Jimmy Carter was an evil president, people would tell me to "leave the sweet old man alone"

Now they say "respect the dead!"

When IS the right time to discuss Jimmy Carter funding death squads in Latin America?

Jimmy Carter still sucked we don’t have to be so nice about this

It's already widely known, but this is more evidence that The Body Keeps The Score is full of junk science among other things.
What the most famous book about trauma gets wrong
People kept telling me to read "The Body Keeps the Score." I was shocked at what it actually says.

I think you can recognize Assad was a bad guy who did bad things while also understanding power vacuums almost always benefit US interests or in the very least the interests of the military industrial complex which is effectively synonymous with “US interests”

It’s so fun to have a true, genuine folk hero emerge in 2024. A mysterious stranger whose action represents the frustrations, hopes, and dreams of the people. I hope we never learn anything more about him.

It’s always so fascinating how domestic policing functions the same way that imperialism does. Proliferating weapons is profitable and creates justification for the institutions responsible. “Destabilize, intervene, plunder” is the imperialist playbook, all our struggles are connected

Dealing with multiple temper tantrums this morning as the kids in my class struggle to share a whoopee cushion, the one who has it is laughing hysterically with power while her peers cry as she makes fart sounds. Sometimes the chaotic moments are funny too lol
