On Feb. 14th I try always to give honor to one of the greatest contributors to American democracy in our nation’s history, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, Douglass never knew his actual birthdate, and adopted Feb. 14th as the day. His penetrating insights about our country inspire me daily.

Avian flu isn’t just about egg prices - can you spare anything to help my friends protect their birds?

I'd argue unit history is a pillar of military culture, leaving out such a large portion of those people is such a disgrace
The Navy has already killed off its heritage committees—one of the ways the organization remembers sailors who came from different backgrounds, including those with disabilities. Basically against regs now to attend any "Black history" or "Indigenous history" events on duty or in uniform.
"The services cited concerns that participation in the predominantly Black event could run afoul of Trump's orders and the Pentagon's intensifying push to erase diversity efforts in the military."
This sure sounds like the federal government saying any events for Black people are now banned.

There are 4 million people who live in the Arctic. 2.7°C of GLOBAL warming leads to approximately 7°C of REGIONAL warming in the Arctic. Absolutely devastating for a way of life that's developed in close relation to land and climate for thousands of years.

With current policies, we're heading for a catastrophic 2.7°C warming.
