This is where some of the techo-optimism of the Bluesky team will face some harsh realities. Being able to choose your own algorithm is nice but it doesn’t address the fact that for certain users to feel safe you need to ban the Nazis.

It’s really hard to overstate how dangerous this is becoming as all levels of the Republican Party are openly and aggressively embracing rightwing vigilante violence. Between the factionalism and the lionizing of white vigilante violence the right is pushing, we are going to see much more violence.
