hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.

I'm playing in a Fabula Ultima campaign and I decided to make some sprite edits so that the party could have some sprites in battle. I had a lot of fun making these!
4 octopath traveler style character sprites. On the left is a purple Hrothgar (large tiger man) with a ponytail and a horn. He wears red and black armor and wields a staff that has two axe heads on either side of a bright red crystal. Next, a Quintoni (boar minotaur hybrid) thief. He has black hair, light brown fur, and three horns on his head. He is notably muscular, wears a purple vest and black pants, and wields and a chain whip. Next, a human archer. She has pale skin, long orange hair, glasses, and a feather earring. She wears a red vest, black pants, and wields a bow. Finally, an orc mage. He has black hair pulled back into a half ponytail and pale green skin. He wears a brown coat over a blue shirt and has a wooden staff with a green gem in the head.

This Tumblr user summarizes something I've been feeling/doing lately. Against everything going on, it somehow feels helpful.
User homoquartz writes: as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now." Small talk isn't to get to know a person. It's just a greeting to affirm you're buddies in the universe. I am motivated by wanting the other person to know I am friendly, so I have gotten pretty decent at small tall when I used to hate it.
