I don’t think Nintendo is perfect by any stretch, but they’re definitely masters at responding to the overall mood.
During the pandemic, we got a game about talking to your neighbors and giving them presents and nice letters.

Once in NYC my bag tore and my wallet fell out without my noticing. A week later I got a call from an older woman who said she’d found it and was trying to track me down for a while but at first she only found a mailing address for my dad and wouldn’t send it there because she’d “never trust a man”
