TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

This is absolutely true. I hate that the fitness industry thinks that self-reliance and discipline are right wing traits. We need a healthy culture of fitness - one that understands that helping people, and accepting help aren't signs of weakness. Let's made both our bodies and our culture healthy.
Strength training is political. We have a right-wing which has taken over physical fitness spaces, and hijacked “warrior culture”.
We need a muscular progressivist visions. We need to be strong to build the world we want.

I am beyond thrilled by the election results this week. But mark my words, they learn. They learned from the first term and they learned from their losses. There will be no free and fair election next year because they will not lose. Natl guard, ice and locals preparing for the troops.
