I think more people should be aware of how much cool stuff Link does in real life. He’s not just a poster.

I wish I didn’t have to say this but…

If someone tells you they’re autistic and you find that hard to believe, it might be because:

- They don’t feel safe enough to unmask around you
- Your knowledge of autism is limited

Arguing won’t help. Kindness, curiosity, and listening to understand, will ❤️

Disabled people have been warning of forced institutionalization for years.

They want to lock away anyone they see as “less than”.

Homeless people are just the first targets.

We need affordable housing, healthcare & a basic income.

Help people meet their basic needs & homelessness goes down

The solution to homelessness is not forced institutionalizations.

It’s social supports. Healthcare. Housing. Education. Harm reduction. A universal basic income.

Anyone can become homeless at any time. It’s not a personal failing.

We must fix it together.

I am overwhelmed and angry and sad, and trying to focus instead on @prisonculture.bsky.social's (paraphrased) mantra: Find your lane. Do the work.

"The kind of 'nerdy white men' that love their trains and love their maths, and I think there is a place for that because obviously those people do exist, but there are also different types of [autistic] people." Molly Siobhan Parker, yet another adult-diagnosed woman.

Really interesting piece of autism history: Edward Ritvo, who first found that autism had a higher risk of recurrence in families, conducted his research in Utah because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints keeps meticulous records.

You weren’t lazy.

You were exhausted.

You weren’t unmotivated.

You were in burnout.

You weren’t “too sensitive".

You were under-supported.

Now you’re rebuilding.

At your own pace.

And that’s beautiful.

That's the autistic experience.

Steve's book is all the more relevant today than when it came out a decade ago. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy if you don't have it. Steve work matters and is a candle in the shroud of disinformation from Washington these days.

Masking is a survival tactic. Autistic people often hide their true selves to avoid harm or rejection. It may "look fine" on the outside but inside, it drains energy and disconnects people from their needs ♾️

Autistic people often have nervous systems wired for constant threat detection. What looks like "overreaction" to others can be a survival response to overwhelming sensory input, unpredictability, or past trauma. It's not drama it's biology ♾️

Autistic spaces change everything.

You stop translating.

You start breathing.

Your nervous system exhales.

That’s when healing begins - not when you’re alone, but when you’re seen.

You weren’t “aloof”.

You were protecting your nervous system.

You weren’t “uninterested”.

You were overstimulated.

You weren’t “self-isolating”.

You were seeking safety.

They called it avoidance.

But it was preservation.

This is the life of the autistic human.

Being in spaces with other autistic people is more than support.

It’s liberation.

Our nervous systems recognise each other.

Regulation replaces vigilance.

Safety replaces performance.

For many, it’s the first time they’ve ever been mirrored with compassion instead of correction.

MAGA wants you to believe that disabled people don’t pay taxes.

That we’re economically inactive.

That we don’t contribute

In short, they want you to view us as “useless eaters”.

Don’t fall for it.

You don’t need a job to have worth.

Paying taxes doesn’t decide your value

Leave no one behind
