there was literal toxic smoke blaneting the south side of the city and out to our rural neighbors last night, from a fire at a recycling plant in Vancouver (where all our cops live), but when you search for information about it all you see are jokes about far right fear mongering targeting our city

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

Hamas didn’t commit a horrific war crime, they were an occupied population resisting their oppressions against a settler class. Many of those Israelis killed were done so by the IDF’s Hannibal directive.

Calling it a “war” also sucks, and using long-outdated estimates is also not great

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.

“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

A huge group of people are in a giant hole in the middle of a rolling field. There is a large sign with an arrow pointing to the hole that says "HOLE." Suddenly the group's attention turns to a new hole, complete with a giant sign with an arrow pointing to it that says "NEW HOLE." One person points to the new hole and says "hey look! Someone made a new hole!" The mass clamours out of the old hole and makes a bee-line toward the new hole. It's chaos. One person, now situated in the new hole says "this feels like how the old hole used to feel." Another person nods in agreement.

One thing that's happening in Portland that Fox News won't tell you is that aggressive, drunk, right wingers have shown up at the ICE facility trying to start fights and the protesters there have not taken the bait. Therefore the story has become "look how Antifa-friendly the Portland police are!"
