I keep coming back to this
After federal troops forced a fugitive slave named Anthony Burns back into slavery in the 1850s, one Bostonian wrote, “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.” The abuse of power radicalizes people. We are seeing that now.

Your regular reminder that ~90% of the lawless authoritarianism could end today, simply by these Senators & about 7 other people in Congress caucusing with the Democrats & giving them governing majorities in both chambers until the crimes & fascism stop.
Todd Young has voted YES on the Venezuela war powers resolution; Murkowski, Collins and Paul are a YES. This will have the simple-majority vote needed to pass unless one or more Democrats vote NO.

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power

- file impeachment articles every day in the House

- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee

- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

Folks look at you like you're crazy when you say we're in the midst of the worst Article I constitutional crisis in 🇺🇸 history & then:

These guys just get total free passes. Don't go to the press conferences unless you're going to ask why they're violating their oaths & not stopping the Mad King.
"I think other countries in this hemisphere who are cooperating with narcoterrorists or in league with China and Russia and Iran and countries like that need to be on notice" -- John Thune indicates he's onboard with Trump's aggression against VZ and threats against countries like Cuba and Mexico

147 elected Republicans in Congress voted to overturn a free and fair election, in an attempted “polite” coup after the attempted violent one. We do not soeak of this enough, all these members violated their constitutional oath of office and none of them would have these seats, if we did it right.

“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

Someone - anyone - should start asking these people, hundreds of times a day & nonstop until we get answers, why they are such damn oathbreaking cowards & whether they intend to resign for failing to do their damn jobs.
Once again, the people you are angry at are the <Republicans> who control majorities in both houses of Congress, & the people everyone should be asking constant questions of are Speaker Johnson & Senate Majority Leader Thune. We have to stop invoking Murc's Law & giving these people free passes.
Impeaching RFK Jr and Noem would be a no-brainer, but for the party's aversion to making news.

The corollary to this is acknowledging that the only people who can stop this are <Republicans> in Congress, & everyone - especially journalists - should stop giving them total free passes every day & asking them nonstop why they aren’t fulfilling their oaths & upholding the law or the Constitution.

abolish ice. theres no middle road on this and democrats will have to be held to it.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Warner easily the most below-replacement democratic Senator, right? Fetterman a disaster obviously and there's other issues with leadership but at rank and file Warner is voting like Blue Virginia is a fluke and not a durable fact.

Don't throw him a lifeline with another question if he dodges. Have each other's backs and demand he answer the question.

In terms of US politics, Bush v. Gore is the defining event of the century. It set the template: a ruthless right that instinctively seeks power & doesn't give a shit about rule of law...and a bunch of hapless, feckless octogenarian Dems worried about the good opinion of centrist opinion columnists.
The 25th anniversary of Bush v Gore is today. The conspiracy mongering & corruption of the GOP has been brewing for a long time.

Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh were all on Bush's legal team, where they pushed unfounded legal theories. SC justices were already enmeshed in voter fraud myths.
Here's Sandra Day O'Connor endorsing News Max levels of voter fraud conspiracies in the 2000 election.

If nothing else democrats should be bringing impeachment proceedings against the entire administration. Literally make it impossible to get other legislation done without impeachment proceedings being tied to them. Poison the process shut down Congress until they break.
