One of JD Vance's most reprehensible arguments in the Abrego Garcia case is the idea that he already received due process in 2019.

In this new piece, I try to offer a direct and systematic challenge to this claim:

JD Vance Accidentally Wrecks Trump’s Vile Scam on Abrego Garcia Case
Implicit in the vice president's latest malevolent tweets is an admission that President Trump and his administration have so far refused to make.

Just saying and doing things you actually believe rather than playing 4-D chess is an underrated political strategy.
Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?"

Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

One way to commemorate the end of the third year of Russia’s senseless, criminal war against Ukraine is to read the work of Ukrainians about it. Vika did not live to see the publication of this book, since she was killed by a Russian missile. But we can see her in her words.

This is also why I don’t think journalists should allow people to use “woke” without forcing them to provide a specific explanation of what is meant. Too much focus on racial justice? Too much focus on LGBTQ tolerance? Make them say it. Because to be blaming marginalized folks for what’s happening…

This is why there’s been so much silence as Black history and Black books are being purged, and integration efforts dismantled. Many Democrats think the purges are valid and necessary. “Candidly, the attack on over-the-top wokeism was a valid attack."

DOGE worker says he was radicalized by reading writer who denied Holocaust
In a since-deleted Substack post, a member of Elon Musk's team praised an essay by Ron Unz—who has since called the Holocaust potentially a "hoax" and said Trayvon Martin was "a violent young thug."

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

There’s something gross about the way media outlets talk about AOC et al as if they’re 19 and not grown ass 35 year old women. It is perfectly reasonable for a 35 year old to be in the running for a leadership position and if she were Andrew OC no one would blink

As with Abbott’s pardon of Daniel Perry, this promotes a particular kind of rw vigilante violence against those Trump declares enemies. Granting anti-democratic mass violence the legitimacy of the state is EXACTLY how white conservatives destroyed multiracial democracy the first time in the 1870s.
Trump II's long parade of horribles will be appalling, but this kick-off that is a middle finger to the rule of law will be an early low point.

1/6 is among the darkest days in American history. Nothing Donald Trump does will change that. Never forget the outrage, never forgive those responsible.
