California, and the country, cannot await the outcome of the midterms to repel Trump’s siege on democracy.

More drastic action is required.
It’s time for soft secession

The whole idea that Weiss spiked the CECOT story because there wasn't an on-the-record statement from the Trump administration is laughable, as Sharyn Alfonsi notes. It's regular journalistic practice to run a story without comment, as long as you've given the source a chance, which 60 Minutes did.

Founder of the Silk Road dark web marketplace, which facilitated over $214 million in illegal drug sales. Some of those drugs killed people.
Trump pardoned him anyway.

Perhaps Donald Trump should sign an executive order declaring June 14 (his birthday) to be National Racial Animus Day.
Donald Trump just removed Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of free entry days at national parks.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

Every year since 1988, the United States has recognized World AIDS Day — until now.

Why not? Maybe because the Trump administration doesn’t want to acknowledge that its foreign aid cuts led to nearly 150,000 deaths from AIDS, according to Boston University researchers.

Shameful.
