It's absolutely insane that Elon Musk and his wrecking crew are saying they're firing entire swaths of our government infrastructure and the press are just like "oh that's sad but what are you gonna do, guess they're fired." It is batshit crazypants, and it's being covered like normal policy choices
The U.S. has two tsunami warning centers, both operated by NOAA. Employees were terminated from these centers today. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center covers Hawaiʻi, and now it is less safe to be near the beach.

I’m participating in the economic blackout today! Any orders received today will be processed tomorrow. Why? All of my payments are processed through major payment processors who happily make money from every transaction.

If you need to shop today, try to shop small and with cash!

Many of the White House candidates for high level positions in the Federal government come across as badly qualified for the jobs they are seeking.

If they all happened to be Black, I wonder if they’d instead be rejected as incompetent DEI hires?

I’m going to keep hitting this until they figure it out, because they are it…the Democrats are THE ONLY political opposition. They had three months to prepare for these acts. And they seem surprised and flat footed.
I’m old enough to remember when we had 3 branches of government. Forget checks and balances. I guess we are a Muskocracy now.

In 2016 the NYT ran multiple front page stories page about the grave national security risk of Hillary Clinton's server.

Today's front page, and nary a mention of the successful "plutocratic coup" (said by a sitting House member) or "constitutional crisis (said by a sitting Senator) unfolding

Not too long ago, Elon was doxing government employees on X. Where was the outcry of “You’re breaking the law” then? These employees feared for their families’ safety.

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad.

There’s not.

-Run an "efficiency" agency despite having billions in govt contracts

-Replace civil servants with his own cronies

-Gain access to sensitive Treasury payment systems

No one elected Elon Musk.

As Donald Trump allows Musk to access people’s personal information and shut down government funding, Republicans in Washington will also own the consequences.
