My American father was stationed in Okinawa at the end of the Vietnam War, met my Ryukyuan mother in a flower shop by the USO and then I came to the US when I was 9 months old. Child of the 70's, teen of the 80's, adult of 90's and 2K.

I'm reminded of how the management of Star Wars Galaxies fired the community manager because the players were unhappy with the New Game Experience that fundamentally tried to change a Star Wars virtual world simulator into something combat first, only half-assed.

I have been looking at Black Friday sales for a week but I do not actually need anything so instead I closed all those tabs and bought a Polaroid for a foster kid in Florida who uses photography to deal with big feelings. Perhaps you would like to do the same for one of the kids at the link below?

I’m a law prof & a YLS grad and anyone familiar w elite law schools knows it is beyond laughable to describe these places as radicalism hotbeds. Cruz knows this, as does JD Vance. But they assume that their marks are too unsophisticated to know it too. It’s condescending as hell.
