3 years ago, the eve the final Splatoon 1 Splatfest started, my cat became deathly ill. While he stayed at the vet I played the Splatfest non-stop to distract myself from worrying sick. Tonight I’m SO happy to start the final Splatoon 2 Splatfest with my cat curled up on my lap.

The weather here this summer has been so cold that the gum nut blossoms on my Eucalyptus bush only started to open today, almost a month later than normal.

Reminder for anyone on Switch 2 that uses HDR to set it to "Compatible Software Only"
If you have it on "For All Software" (the default), it puts a weird filter over games that don't support HDR. It makes most games (especially Splatoon) look washed out and bad

I see AI slop in anything, I instantly disregard the whole thing. It's like finding a slug in your salad. If you can't write without an LLM, or you can't source art that isn't genAI, you can't be trusted to do anything. Sorry. Absolute deal-breaker.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.
