Someone told me once that regardless of degree completed, a "Physicist" is just one who studies physics. In that context, I like to think of myself a physicist moreso than any of my other professions or skills. Which are humorous in number at this point.

Remember when they degraded teachers by saying "Those who can, do. Those who can't? Teach."

Turnabout is fair play.

Those who can, do. Those who can't? Use AI.

If you are traumatized from a prior incident to the point of being unable to maintain bearing and perform your job, then the correct place for you is a desk while you figure your shit out. Not out armed on patrol. There is no excuse for the murder of Renee Good. None.

Idle thought, the U.S. gets Greenland if they agree to partner with (join) the EU, adhere to a universal currency, open borders, become a signatory to the ICC, rejoin the Paris climate agreement, and facilitate Ukraine's membership in NATO.

We retake the mid-terms, we strip the office of the presidency of its status as commander in chief.

There can be no unitary executive. No single power can be entrusted to the authority of one person.

Right now we have light pollution, near-constant helicopters, and are legit afraid to go outside. Going #digitalnomad we can find somewhere quiet; wherever we decide to stop for a bit, we can breathe.

Help me show my kids the stars at night!

Where are you Congress?

Do your job or we will need a new Department just to hold you accountable.

You swore an oath. Don’t be a bunch of cowards. You know what overreach is.

You are going to be the death of our Constitution and are as much at fault at the felon-in-chief.

When we re-take in the midterms, partisan gerrymandering, or even calling to do a partisan redistricting, should carry a mandatory minimum sentence of death.

My reading streak has hit 701 days in a row. When it hits 731 I plan to put the kindle down for a bit and pick up a few of the physical books that I've halfway read. Figure I'll start back on on "Oak Flat" by Lauren Redniss. And I remind you of this humorous coincidence from 281 days ago...

Folks, I'm having a surge of activity this morning, I promise I'll pipe down again soon. It's important to state that it's not possible as individuals to track everything going on. From Epstein to Public Lands, working as a group, with people who specialize on certain topics, is going to be a must.

Hmm, one thing I don't like about trying to squeeze everything into 300 characters, is while conciseness and coherence have some very effective intersection points, optimum conciseness and optimum coherence rarely coincide at a single point, and writing a whole thread feels clunky.

I remind you that "narco-terrorism" is not a thing that even exists. It is a contradiction in terms, it is on its face false pretense.

There should be non-stop protests at the capitol building and white house. No silence, no rest, until Trump and his entire cabinet are removed.

To lighten the mood a bit, here's a photo from when I was home for the holidays of two of my dogs playing in my back yard.

The husky is Nyx, and as you can see the fluffening has begun. The foxhound is Radar, and he is a goober.

Allow me to connect some dots for you:

Too much of the world currently relies for its basic functions on resources which must be continuously extracted. You burn that oil one time and oops, now you need more.

Geopolitical horrors are, in fact, one of the reasons we need to move to renewables ASAP.

What a congressional statement should sound like.
Today's military action in Venezuela and the kidnapping of Maduro was illegal. What's the plan?
January 3, 2026 at 3:58 PM
This what an apologist for fascists looks like. Maduro's actions, while reprehensible, in no way justify or excuse a military action of this nature. You have an oath-sworn duty to speak truth to power, and remove that power when it acts unlawfully. An oath you have now, publicly violated.
My statement on the capture of the brutal, illegitimate ruler of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and need for a transition to democracy:

Ohhh boy, this is not the January to do dry January with.

Fuck it though, can't deal with war criminals if I implode my own liver, so tea and electrolyte mix it is!

Should probably also try out that non-alc beer at some point.

Look, I know things are bad right now, and I'm often cynical enough that I don't really help that much, especially when I'm not being artsy (I'll post dog pics soon, I promise), but I was raised to be very conservative, I promise you they know they're wrong, they can be broken.

The whole argument for why we need deep-sea mining is that billionaires don't want to stop exploiting slave labor.

That's it, that is the only one.

And y’all did what exactly? Cratered harder than the Chicxulub impact?

Either grow a fuckin’ spine and lead, or get out of the way.
Trump and Republicans gave us the LARGEST CUT to health care in history, the LONGEST SHUTDOWN in American history AND are letting the ACA tax credits EXPIRE.

Republicans didn’t spend much time working for the American people this year, that’s for sure.

Here's an idea, any contractor that helped demolish the east wing, or defile the Kennedy center gets life in prison. And I mean from the owner down to lift operator.

Send. A. Fucking. Message.

If the hyper-wealthy are just going to buy pardons later in life, maybe their crimes should carry the death penalty. Your estate can still buy a pardon, but you'll still be dead.

Dear @repsuhas.bsky.social and @markwarner.bsky.social please kindly address this issue and make sure that DeJoy faces consequences including the rest of his miserable life in prison.

One day, we'll be on the far side of a 2nd Nuremberg. ICE, Palantir, MAGA, will all be but a memory. The greatest irony of which will be how they squealed and squirmed, showed how truly weak they are, when the bell they'd gleefully rang for others, finally tolls for them.

The fact that it needs explaining that CECOT is a modern functional analog to Auschwitz is an indicator of just how stupid people are.

Hey @apnews.com what in the fuck is up with this headline?

Whoever authored it needs fired, for cause, immediately.

"Grenell" criticizes, or "Trump" criticizes, these are accurate headlines, anything less is journalistic malfeasance.

This bullshit is why I don't donate.
