As a writer who started writing in my forties and who is published by a small but mighty indie press, I wasn't sure how I'd get on in the book world, but from day one libraries have been a great support, just like they were a great support to me all my life as a reader.

Please support your library.
Since we started in 2006 libraries have given our authors the space and support to talk about their stories and have promoted everything we are trying to do.

Please support your local library.

Day 10 of #ArtAdventCalendar and we're looking to more local birds (to me at least)..the lovely sparrows. We had a colony of about 40 in our garden until our neighbour's building work scared them away 🙁 This is an illustration I did for a tea towel design.

"It will not be possible to halt the spread of. A new pandemic virus and it would be a waste of public health resources and capacity to attempt to do so."

Isn't that the main function of a health system? To attempt to prevent people dying? This was surely influenced by the RFK-style lobbying.
Document from NHS England which basically says when there is another Pandemic we can’t be bothered to protect you, it’s too costly. We are on our own folks. H/T @catinthehat.bsky.social
