Market concentration → Less competition → Higher prices for consumers → Corporate profits at 70-year high → Record stock buybacks → Higher shareholder value → More power for corporations and the rich.

One of the unacknowledged advantages of this awful era is that it's revealing for all to see the putrid connections between great wealth and great power.

The intentions of the oligarchs are fully exposed and more blatant than ever.

But remember: We outnumber the oligarchs.

This year, Jeff Bezos rented out the entire city of Venice for his wedding.

And we’re told we’re complaining too much about not being able to afford healthcare.

Tax the rich.

Trump and Republicans’ slashing of Medicaid and refusal to extend ACA subsidies makes our broken health care system even worse.

As millions of American families struggle to afford basic care, Republicans have no plan or answer. I’m fighting for Medicare for All.

When Republicans passed their Big Bad Betrayal Bill, they kicked millions of Americans off of their health care and slashed SNAP funding for hungry families — meaning millions will get poorer and sicker.

This should not be how we live in the richest country in the world.

Are you f*cking kidding with this? A nearly ONE MILLION DOLLAR payday for the outgoing CEO of these struggling non profit news outlets in Chicago?! Laying off reporters, cutting back critical staff but spending 1M on this? Shame on the board that agreed to this. Shame.
The nonprofit owner of the Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ paid its outgoing CEO more than $900,000 in 2024, new tax filings show, as it engaged in staff cuts and other measures to deal with declining revenue.

Democrats have got to stop using the big tent argument to avoid picking a side.

We can't be the party of wealthy corporations and the party of working folks. It's time to choose the people.

This year, the top 1% saw their wealth grow by $4 *trillion.* While they're buying extra houses and padding their investment portfolios, working folks are struggling to afford groceries, childcare, and rent.

My OLIGARCH Act would help curb this growing aristocracy by taxing the wealthy more fairly.

Since 1975, $79 trillion in wealth has been redistributed from the bottom 90% to the top 1% — a 1% that now owns more wealth than the bottom 93%.

We can respect innovation & entrepreneurship, but we cannot respect the extraordinary greed that now exists.

We need a wealth tax.
