Therapeutic targeting of calcium handling proteins for heart failure and arrhythmias. Shown is a schematic highlighting key proteins involved in Ca2+ cycling cardiomyocyte that have emerged as therapeutic targets. Investigational agents recently or currently in clinical trials, as well as US Food and Drug Administration–approved agents are shown in relation to their specific molecular targets. Created in BioRender. ACE indicates angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor; ARB, angiotensin receptor blocker; ARNI, angiotensin receptor/neprolysin inhibitor; AT2R, angiotensin 2 receptor; β-AR, β-adrenergic receptor; Cal2, calstabin 2; CaMKII, Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent kinase; LTCC, L-type Ca2+ channel; MR, mineralocorticoid receptor; MRA, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist; NCX, sodium-calcium exchanger; PP1, protein phosphatase 1; PLN, phospholamban; RyR, ryanodine receptor; S100A1, S100 Ca2+ binding protein; and SR, sarcoplasmic reticulum. Figure 2 was created with BioRender.

#Alzheimer disease is more common in women than men.

Often attributed to the fact that women tend to live longer, research shows the sex gap likely stems from a complex mix of biological and sociocultural factors.

To be clear, there are no data that provide a link between short-term use of Tylenol during pregnancy and autism. In fact, one of the best prospective studies w/ sibling controls, if anything, pointed to a protective effect for use less than 7 days

Came across this. Their conclusion: ACEi might be associated with ⬆️mortality (vs ARBs). Even if better quality, target emulation trials=observational+ association isn’t causation (more pts are on ACEi🤷‍♀️) #nephjc
