like the thing this is hitting for people is that for years game writers have been prevented from joining WGA and whenever we try to bridge that gap WGA is more interested in getting their writers into game projects. they see it as a one way street.

the most common experience of being an artist in any capacity is doing a lot of work seriously and rigorously for years and learning to be ok with it not finding an audience. this is like the inverse of that in every way
nothing drives them more mad than people being unimpressed, indifferent, or hostile towards their slop. it's not enough for them to have slop and smear slop everywhere, they expect thanks and praise for it (or engage in smug delusion about how their critics are seething, etc)
