It is 40 degrees (celsius) and my cat will not stop trying to sleep on the sill of a window that gets full afternoon sun

Why does she want to be baked like a focaccia so bad???

Let me carry every item I find. I need them. For stuff
I think we as a society have moved past encumbered conditions on games, aside from survival games

Chasing mayak gyeran with mint brownies was... not an experience I recommend

The Works of Vermin by @hironennes.bsky.social
Finished it, went "how did I not realise???" and then immediately read it again

It was even better the second time, getting to really enjoy all the world building and see just how well everything is put together. I am absolutely feral about it
We all read some bad books this year. I didn’t finish some and had to write negative reviews here and there. However, what I really want to hear about is the stuff that blew your mind, that made you think, that stayed with you. Tell me about the cool books you loved this year.

So the storygraph wrap up cover collage doesn't quite work if you've read too much.
Unless you really like scrolling

Saw someone talk about materials literacy and I can’t stop thinking about it. Its the thing that has made people believe all tshirts are the same and should be $5

Accidentally read twenty books this month so I forced myself to go play a video game instead, which feels a bit backwards

Good news everyone, I have found my old cd wallet full of albums I burned as a teen

Bad news, my copy of I Brought You My Bullets is absolutely scratched to hell and now sounds like a bad dance remix

So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say one of my neighbours got an electric guitar for christmas

It feels deeply unfair that I cannot read a book and do a second activity at the same time. Let me second screen a novel!

(Yes I know audiobooks exist. They do nothing for me)

Australians - there is a survey here from Sweltering Cities, with questions about coping in heatwaves. There are some specific questions for those dealing with chronic illness and/or disability.
It doesn't take too long to do.

The Works of Vermin is a strong contender for my favourite book this year, but definitely my favourite acknowledgements

Aggressively picking out the perfect gifts for loved ones. That's right fucko. It's incredible. I looked within your soul and saw what it would take to temporarily fill the emptiness that exists at your core. You can softly weep if you'd like.

One foot was quite uncomfortable walking around so I checked to remove what I assumed would be a small pebble only to find a fair bit of blood, and after digging around with tweezers... glass 🙃

At a point with my reading where it's possible for me to finish 100 books this year, which thanks to the gremlins which run my brain, means I will now have to do that

Would like to have a word with me of three hours ago, who decided against halving the monkey bread recipe knowing full well that I and I alone would be eating it

There's just... so much sugary bread now
