My personal crack pot legal theory is that despite pretty much every tenancy agreement in England and Wales saying replacing light bulbs and fuses is a tenant responsibility it's legally the landlords responsibility

Singapore always gets brought up in "cooking from scratch costs more than eating out" discourse, but ime Malaysians say that it stopped being cheaper to eat out than cook for yourself in Malaysia after COVID, so I'm not actually sure this would be the case anymore

i think the big middle event between george floyd protests and covid that accelerated this hard right turn in elite circles was tech employees using slack to stage walk-outs and force concessions from management. tech bosses got a first whiff of organized labor's power and started reading mein kampf

The contrast between tech and software engineering reddits on AI is so funny. Like the "tech" ones are all like "the singularity is almost upon us" whereas the software engineering ones are like "continuing to pump billions into this shows that people with buisness degrees are useless"
