For the record, I've never used Midjourney or ChatGPT or any other LLM or art-mangling AI. I gave up on Google and use DuckDuckGo with the AI functions and images turned off under the Manage AI setting. I use spellcheck in Word because my spelling sucks and I visit the Merriam-Webster website a lot.

Actor and comedian Stanley Baxter dies
Baxter was a multi-faceted comic actor and impressionist who was bold enough to mimic the Pope and even the Queen.

So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

If you live in California and happen to see Spartan Mosquito Pro Techs for sale, please send me a photograph and the address of the store. The scam tubes are banned there and company gets fined up to $10,000 *per* instance. I'd very much like to facilitate that happening. #california #mosquitoes

As the world has looked back on VE day this week, we have had a question about St Bartholomew's Hospital in the Second World War, which we can't answer. Can you help?!
This photo was taken in the hospital square in the 1940s; what was the purpose of the temporary wooden structures in the background?

Blocking The Ethel handband on a lovely Spring day. My first time knitting a headband and if it works out there will be others! Great pattern BTW. #knitting #TheEthel

This weekend is Imbolc; halfway between winter and spring. Today in NH there will be 10 hours of light between sunrise and sunset. It's also Groundhog Day, and whether or not Phil saw his shadow (he did) it's still 10 to 12 weeks minimum until spring weather arrives. Hope is lighting the darkness.

This. Is. Amazing. Finally, an ebook alternative for Amazon, but for independent bookstores. This is amazing for readers who want to be more intentional about where you're spending your money. 📖 #BookSky
Bookshop.org launches new e-book platform that exclusively supports local bookstores

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and public services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend any money is so important to so many people

Please, if you are able, support Independent bookshops.

They are the literary & social hubs of our high streets and communities.

Without their continued support, we simply wouldn't be around to publish .

Thank you.
