Merz going to India is a great step. "The West" worked hard to pry Modi away from Russia amd Trump has pushed him back again. I'm not fond of Modi, but of the Indian people and it is now Europe who has to support them

Straight out of Mussolini's playbook btw
Trump wants to claim that there is so much violence that he needs to declare martial law or apply the insurrection act… Except that the violence is coming from his goons!

Time to impeach or the 25th amendment, whichever we can do first!

Yes, the entire world revolves around the USA and the facts that the Ayatollah regime has brutally surpressed multiple protests, seems to live off of iranian blood, crashed the economy and don't give a damn about their people in general has nothing to do with it. All Trump's doing mhm
Just a quick question for everyone...

Does anybody else think that the CIA/MOSSAD & Trump are behind this complete turn of events in Iran?

Now Trump & administration is saying they will 'save' the people of Iran?

As the repression intensifies, and the loss of innocent lives continue, we are monitoring the situation carefully.

Europe stands with the people of Iran in their legitimate fight for freedom.
Tehran’s streets, and cities around the world, echo with the footsteps of Iranian women and men demanding freedom.

Freedom to speak, to gather, to travel and above all to live freely.

Europe stands fully behind them.

I am looking at the E.U comission.

The moment the Iranian regime falls, any and all of our sanctions against Iran must go!

Mercosur is a proper step in the right direction! Glad the Italians decided to vote for it in the end.

However, farmer's concerns are still valid and we cannot rest here. Now we need to pressure our new partners in adapting and enforcing proper agriculture standards as to not undermine our own

Russia abandoning their generals and troops in Venezuela when push came to shove really shows that you can't ever depend on "the mighty russian bear" to come and save you. It keeps hibernating cause it nows it can't ever show strength, but likes to pretend it could

I want to remind everyone that just a few weeks ago, MAGA officials were accusing us Europeans of theft as we discussed seizing frozen Russian assets.
🇺🇸🇻🇪💲The US wants to confiscate Venezuela's cryptocurrency reserves following Maduro's arrest. This refers to a massive hidden vault containing up to 600,000 bitcoins ($60 billion) obtained from sanctions-busting oil, gold, and USDT sales, CNBC reports.

At this point, as much as it pains me, I have sort of written of Nato
It is time for Europe to create its own pact of true equals and lead with example

Fun side effect of this is that the probable Nato restriction in a Ukraine peace deal would be void
January 7, 2026 at 8:15 AM
Nato's first big war being a defense agaibst the USA is the kind of thing that will take up our history books of the future
The mental gymnastics one gas to make in irder to arrive at this point are truly overwhelming. What utter disrespect not only for your allies, but your own country as well

It's easy to dislike Trump, but trust me, I don't think the anger toward Congress and both parties is enough.

Big brother knows best. I am holding up 5 fingers.
Decoding Fox News: "Trump thinks it was absolutely terrible that Maduro lied about an election. Trump continues to lie about the 2020 election. He lost. Biden won. He hoped a mob of angry supporters might help him stay in power...but Maduro is bad and Trump is good"

Loosely quoting the german SPD Geschichtswerkstatt here:

Some people tried to hibernate through the NS-regime, hoping they wouldn't rage on for too long and only resisted passively

Remind anyone else of american politicians?

#Iran: We've seen disturbing videos of forces entering hospitals to attack protesters. To now be silencing free speech through fear and violence in places of healing is an extreme escalation. It must be condemned loudly and immediately.

It is day 1411 of our glorious 3 day special military operation. Yesterday was tough, but a new group of prison recruits arrived and I believe victory is at hand. Russia is strong and NATO afraid! We are the most modern military in the world! Tonight, another cavalry charge has been ordered

Anti space exploration arguments are always like "stop messing our planet up first" and it always feels like someone yelling at a cancer clinic for not solving world hunger

Radical idea: why not both

Science has always thrived if we just let our scientists cook

He should absolutely
Because Trump attacked Venezuela, he can now be tried in the International Criminal Court in the Hague, even though the US is not a member. Let's see if they have the courage to do so.

Maduro is a brutal and oppressive dictator of Venezuela.

Trump has no legitimate legal basis for military action against Venezuela under United States or international law.

Both of those facts are simultaneously true.
January 3, 2026 at 9:00 AM
It is imperative not to get sidetracked by "Good riddance Maduro" perspectives. Yes, it's for the better if Maduro is out of power, but the way he lost it should shake everyone to their bones.
What's next? Is he gonna save Haiti? Protect Greenland? Or guide Cuba?
Sovereignty means nothing to Trump

Following very closely the situation in Venezuela.

We stand by the people of Venezuela and support a peaceful and democratic transition.

Any solution must respect international law and the UN Charter.
