the weird route is viscerally uncomfortable. the choices (deliberate decisions by the player, against kris & noelle's autonomy) offer a strong reading about coercion and violation. the reactions make this clear. the idea against this reading that "toby wouldn't do that" presupposes you know the guy
i have a controversial take on the deltarune weird route but idk if i'd get pilloried for reading too much into it
