Artists don’t always know how deeply their work has affected collectors. But when they do share those sentiments, even years later, it can be just the reassurance you need to keep going. That and more is in my latest email, sent out yesterday to subscribers🎨🎨🎨

Work table from last week. Just thinking out loud about new possibilities in the work, research. I feel like these may become collage materials, that’s what’s been coming up for me internally since I made them.

The right has united around a rejection of government as the solution to social problems. Which means they can generally agree to block new policies and programs. The left is united in its desire for government solutions. But that means they have to face the harder task of agreeing on what to do. 1/
Real q: why are modern American progressives so bad at building coalitions? The right wing is this ideologically incoherent hodge-podge of unrelated or even oppositional causes, yet they manage to work as a bloc. By contrast, liberals + leftists spend a huge amount of energy fighting w each other.

Right. As far as I can tell no one in the Trump administration so much as lifted a finger about these exhibits. Instead the OAS preemptively canceled the shows for fear that the US might penalize the OAS for showing art by Black or queer artists. That's censorship as soft power
It's an OAS museum and does not answer to the U.S. federal government. The exhibit was funded by Canada, not OAS or the U.S. And a federal judge enjoined the termination provision of the anti-DEI EO anyway.
So who instructed the director of the museum to cancel the exhibit?
