🚨 WORLD’S RICHEST MAN BUYING OUR DEMOCRACY 🚨 Elon Musk is set to pump £78m into Nigel Farage’s party—a sum that would allow Reform to flood our politics with targeted ads. Maybe other countries…

Those who falsely flogged great future outside EU now lie about green energy
Mirror Associate Editor Kevin Maguire says the Kemi Badenochs and Nigel Farages, who were wrong about Brexit, are now diverting attention by suddenly scapegoating net zero

By way of support, here's the proportional recount of the division. This is telling us that, although the count of MPs voting aye/no was close, the people they represent clearly shows the ayes had a majority - as if seats matched votes.

Fair elections are a cornerstone of our society.

This is important, urgent, positive work.

💥 Big news:

A cross-party group of MPs with more than 100 members is calling for a National Commission on Electoral Reform (NCER) to identify a replacement for the First Past the Post (FPTP) voting system.

Your enemies are the people who own everything and raise their prices far above inflation, while keeping your wage increases far below it.

Everything else is noise created by them to hide this.

lost track of the number of journalists writing that farmers will get hit with IHT above a £1m threshold *for their entire estate*

ignoring the reality that it’s £1m of land per person on top of existing IHT threshold of up to £1m (£3m max)

feels like a major comms failure by government as well

The fourth book in Tim Shipman’s Brexit saga is a detailed chronicle of the Conservatives’ self-destruction — “a bleak cavalcade of some of the worst people to infect Britain’s body politic”

I see the usual nasty, low grade Tory MPs… like Esther (pay for my personal photographer, would you?) McVey… are trying to whip up prejudice and division by accusing Labour of sending millions to “foreign farmers”.
Because it doesn’t suit her ugly agenda to take credit for this Tory initiative.

And I think we will need to keep pushing the UK to align with European values rather than US values over the coming years.

Yup - that’s exactly what I said.

Brexit used to be about the EU versus tales of ‘freedom’.

Brexit happened and failed.

Now Brexit has taken a desperate final form - Trump.

In him Brexiteers see salvation of their dead project.

But at least it’s now clear. The UK must choose Trump or the EU.

I love Ian Hislop but it’s worth noting that most of us would balk at the prospect of publicly admonishing a wrongdoer whose conduct you condemn in this way. I did it once to the UKIP/Reform/Brexit twerp Richard Tice but that took exactly zero guts.
This is speaking truth to actual power…
