Here’s the facts: The Harrell administration cancelled speed cushions, an extremely cheap, basic, and effective traffic calming measure used all over the city, because some drivers complained it made their commute a bit less comfortable. That’s the only discernible reason in Park’s announcement.

Again & again, the slightest discomfort & inconvenience to drivers is prioritized over basic safety for people walking & rolling. Requiring drivers to slow a tiny bit — what speed cushions (they aren't even bumps! they are gentle to drive over) do — is too radical for our Democratic mayor.
