I note that, every time I see an article in the Guardian about trans rights, it's illustrated by a GC march.

The very important point that, to make their “case”, transphobes have to lie about what the Supreme Court actually said, and do lie about it, every day, and the government and media colludes in their lying.
Ridiculous, both from the EHRC and the guardian reporting.

The Supreme Court did not rule that "the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex"

The judgement itself makes this clear:

There's some pretty foul victim-blaming going on in Labour's announcement. Blame the Home Office that wouldn't allow people to use public transport? Blame the taxi firms ripping the taxpayer off? No, it's all the asylum seekers' fault.
When I was on my chaplaincy placement, I met a young woman seeking asylum who was in deep grief following a miscarriage. She had taken multiple taxis to and from her accomodation because there was literally no other way to get to the hospital to receive the medical care she required.
Government to ban asylum seekers from using taxis
The ban is set to come in February and any exemptions will have to be signed off by the Home Office.

I wonder how many working class parents waving their kids off to unis said "Oh no, our intergenerational bonds are being destroyed!" and how many said "It's great that our children will have better opportunities than we ever had."

No way I’m sharing Stock’s UnHerd article. But I am going to point to this bit which amply demonstrates the anti-trans=>anti-women’s rights pipeline. “Abortions should only be done for a highly restricted set of reasons. They should not be just nodded through for any reason a pregnant woman likes.”

Very sad to learn of the death earlier this month of Roger Ling. Like most of the archaeologists and historians I knew at Manchester, I hadn't seen him for ages, but I remember his kindness, humour and hospitality well.

It's an astonishingly stupid thing for a minister to say, though it's been framed as a bit worse than it actually was. But it really should be a guiding principle of public life not to say things that will immediately cause people to think of the Nazis.
