Needless to say the fuel economy target for 2025 has been missed by a wide margin and will get worse next year.

Here, at time of writing (first minutes of 2026) is what I understand to be the case about the Manage My Health data breach. I am writing this out as a what I know and why (and don't know) as of now to help anyone trying to explain this to others.
This is a data breach with stolen patient data.

Travelling across Raukawa Moana with a small child? CANNOT recommend the Bluebridge cabins enough. Like 20% more cost if you're travelling with a car, absolute lifesaver. Ensuite toilet! You can lie down! Can reasonably let kiddo play with toys and/or watch things with sound on!

Love this (successful development of ecosystems including insects in urban spaces). The new George St is a much nicer space than what it replaced.
Dunedin's inner-city greening project shows even small spaces can be wildlife havens
Even small green spaces can bring nature back into cities, as our project in Ōtepoti Dunedin has shown.

So the hotline’s 12 month budget was $400k. If we generously assume it spent only $200k given it operated for half of that time, that’s still $1000 per road cone removed. Nutty waste of money from the Coalition. 🤦‍♂️

Justice Committee recommends passing Electoral Amendment Bill with some amendments
The bill would prevent same-day enrolments, ban prisoners from voting, and tighten up the rules around treating.

This is an absolute disgrace.

The Public Service Act imposes duties of stewardship on chief executives, and the job of the service is to be effective as well as efficient.

How can you know if this is happening if you don’t evaluate the effects of restructuring?

#nzpol
Only 7 out of 300+ analysed restructures went back to monitor and document the after-effect and whether it's been successful.

Quick video for the 'we saved too many lives, spent too much $, sent inflation to the moon, made interest rates go up, and now we have to pay for our sins 😢' crowd.
The idea that NZ could have 'opted out' of global inflation surge is daft. Almost as daft as NZ opting almost uniquely for a recession.

These scams (usually selling real products, but with illegally misleading marketing) are happily allowed by Meta.

They are specifically targeting New Zealand consumers, with advertising that's illegal under NZ law, but Meta will do nothing about it.

Online ads for fake clothing stores with New Zealand locations in their names have been surging - with hundreds of complaints to Consumer NZ.

Then here’s a handy guide - like an airline safety plan. Watch out for candidates pushing specific ideologies based on pseudo law and organisations known to spread disinformation. They won’t help your community.
