Deep Fear is often presented as a Resident Evil clone (which it probably is). However, the game was already in development in 1995, more than three years before its release (and a year before Capcom's game) – an unusually long time for a game produced in the 1990s.
In the second half of the 1990s, Rieko Kodama had the strange privilege of working on both the last Saturn game to be released in the US—Magic Knight Rayearth—and the last Saturn game to be released in Europe—Deep Fear.

So that's where the SNES CD Play Station Dev Kit went.
Successful trip to the Sac Gamers Expo today!!! I saw the SNES CD add-on prototype in person, played a few unreleased prototype PS1 games, and did a bunch of retro game shopping.

And a 2-hour PS1 making-of panel retrospective!

I've been known to source new data on obscure games. The Book of Watermarks is different. It's an obscurantist work of fiction. As extensive as my analysis may be, I can't bring myself to put in words what makes it so, nor can I comment on the reason why. shorturl.at/OAUcQ

Dreams Dreams is a nice song with some... lyrics. To be fair to translator Wornell Jones, interpreting songwriter Tomoko Sasaki's intent while also matching the melody was an impossible task.

But what was Sasaki really trying to say? The answer may be right here on the old NiGHTS website. 🧵1/3

I worked at Scientific-Atlanta from 1994 until they were divested by Cisco in 2015. Around the launch of the SEGA Channel, they handed out these glow-in-the-dark Frisbees to us. They were probably part of a marketing effort encouraging our customers to launch the channel with our equipment.
