I have been doing my podcast since April 2024. I started it as a way to share my thoughts on organizational psychology, applied psychology for media and technology, etc. to help people understand their world. Some episodes were intentionally very relevant to this moment. I’m resharing them today 🧵

If anyone in Alabama who both protests and takes Covid seriously wants to talk to me about your problems with the bill, my email is [email protected] (reposts appreciated) www.alreporter.com/2026/01/28/d...
House passes bill that would criminalize protesting in a mask without a doctor's note
Anti-masking laws have never been taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court and have had mixed results in lower courts.

And we have to remember their punishment is always the thriving of the people they’ve harmed

It’s repair

Its vision it’s not being slightly less comfortable

Their greatest punishment is always the birth of the world they are trying to deny
We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.

They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.

“Independent” is doing too much work in this first wave. They are arresting journalists and just like everything else they’ve done, they’re testing the limits of our resistance by starting wt vulnerable margins.

MSM clueing into to the fact that viruses have chronic impacts.

“Officials in ‘23 declared an end to the COVID pandemic. 2 years later, a growing body of research continues to reveal info about the virus’s ability to cause harm long after initial infections resolve, even in some w/ mild symptoms.”
Trump policies at odds with emerging understanding of COVID's long-term harm
Studies offer insights into the health risks and burdens faced by people who have had COVID infections. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has narrowed COVID vaccine recommendations and cut research.

Finally got around to a bit of research I'd been meaning to explore, and: There is no documented instance of an ICE officer being identified and assaulted while off duty because he wasn't masked. www.pbump.net/o/ices-excus...
ICE’s excuse for wearing masks has never actually manifested
There have been incidents of harassment and threats. But there are no apparent incidents in which identified ICE officers have been assaulted off-duty.

When reporting about TikTok, media now must speak with specificity about *TikTok USA* app vs TikTok's global app, because the privacy structure is now no longer the same in the app versions (and frankly, the original app was always more private than anything the US makes).

Related, "polarization" as a problem is one of the most destructive ideas US political science has ever helped popularize.
This is why I have real fucking problem with blithe criticisms of "polarization" or "congressional dysfunction." We have a Republican member blaming his colleague for being attacked.

The problem isn't polarization or dysfunction. It's the Republican Party.
