Locked out of my twitter account, so I guess I'm done there.

This is gonna work. It should populate very fast now that twitter's gone completely bonkers. I like it. #Xile

Wish ET people would come over here. Can only get into my twitter account to see I'm suspended for some unknown reason and can't do anything there. The 2024 data for 2026/2028 purposes is very interesting. Massive turnout will be the thing, imho. Don't know how, but it won't be by using celebrities.

"In many respects in good ways" is a sentiment that will bear out. They're making short term deals with the devil that will shift the landscape faster than they think. The ones inside know whose trajectories are up and whose are down already, and it's unlikely to reverse.
I think it will clarify things both politically and in terms of press issues in a way that accelerates a lot of things and in many respects in good ways.

It will be a whole lot more than they thought they would. Trump 2.0 will be much worse than the original, like most sequels.
We’re about to see how much loss, pain and suffering people are willing to take in exchange for not wanting to vote for a woman.

I'm blocking everyone who talks about that at all.
I've been confused why some folks show up in my comments borderline unhinged about the number of people I follow here until it was explained to me there are groups for whom follows are entirely transactional and they apparently think I've tricked all y'all into following me and have not reciprocated

You can't use normie political communication to fight the infowars.
The center of all post-mortem analyses of the 2024 elections must be “how, why & by whom”- are so many Americans uninformed, misinformed & disinformed.

Also, no “perfect message”, candidate, or platform positions can break through an information diet/media-induced sense of unreality.

Early reports that Russian and Syrian forces have fled Hama airbase.

More consequences of Putin’s war in Ukraine - he’s overcommitting troops to try to make progress in Ukraine and leaving himself vulnerable elsewhere.

Losing in two theaters at once is pretty impressive.

My full expectation is this will be a trash heap for 4 years. That's bad, but not as bad as organized, systematic implementation of Project 2025 across all executive departments & forming an alliance to take down NATO & support autocratic aggression. How bad & how fast do they implode the economy?

Took a real Thanksgiving break from social media/politics for the first time since forever. It's been very helpful. Keeping up just enough by reading headlines, and it hasn't been panic-inducing so far.

I know she won’t win But jasmine should run for Senate in Texas in 26.
So many variables affecting what will happen the next four years, and the up and coming generation of Democrats is a huge one imho. GOP simply doesn't have that. Once we get past trump it's hard to see how the gop keeps up with them.

Even if she didn't it would be amazing for TX voter enthusiasm. Too bad Cruz isn't up then instead of Cornyn.

politics hasn’t ended and hard things are hard. i am NOT saying that there are “guardrails” or that trump will be stopped by some other force. i am saying that everything can be a battle if his opponents choose to make it one.

If someone else was doing it, which is what I suspect, but it can't be good to give the gop Senate multiple ways before he's even inaugurated to tell him no. Looks like Hesgeth is going to go down also.
There’s a narrative that Gaetz was a deliberate head-fake — a distraction to boost the real candidate — but I am always suspicious of narratives that attribute four-dimensional chess to trump as opposed to knocking over the table and eating the checkers.

You call it surprising, I call it SOP.
A Trump-appointed judge just struck down a Biden rule expanding overtime pay to 4 million working people.

It's really surprising how little media coverage this has received. Trump faced no real questions about this issue during the campaign. 1/

A Trump Judge Just Nixed Overtime Pay for Millions—and Media Yawned
Remember the right-wing frenzy over “Rich Men North of Richmond”? Well, this ruling exposes Trump-MAGA hypocrisy on the working class—and reveals a big media failure.

THIS
The problem is the bots. Most of Elon Musk's Twitter is bots that he controls pretending to be people. 99.9% fake users, and then a blanket shadowban against everyone else. He even gives the fake users free verification to make them look real - he should be arrested for being a foreign asset.

It's a public forum and I don't have a problem with people's opinions or positions, but what's keeping them out is trolling and hating on others. If they're incapable of functioning civilly in polite society, no one's going to adjust for that.
Mark is a smart dude. But this is extremely out of touch take.
Why are Trump supporters not wanted ? You dont have to follow them. You can block them. You can filter words. Don’t you want @bsky.app to have all perspectives ? I certainly do.

As long as it’s civil. Why not welcome different viewpoints ?

And if they don't have an answer (unfortunately many still don't do much beyond choir preaching) go to other org groups or just start your own with a very local, small, social event. A few people can start a group that expands and creates progress.
Don’t know what to do or how start? Attend a local Democratic Party meeting and ask them how you can help.

Ironically, the states that are going to decline the fastest and most dramatically with trump back in office will be red states.
New report is out from the CDC on states with the highest rate of STD infections. The top 9 are all Republican states.

1. LA
2. MS
3. AK
4. SD
5. GA
6. AL
7. NC
8. SC
9. AR

For people around my age we lived in a time when we got the news from a daily paper or nightly news once a day. Today they want our attention 24 hours a day.
We are not meant to be triggered to alertness this often!

I'm going to set my "news time" to 5pm - 5pm a day and see how much better I feel.
