The congressional map Texas Republicans hope to enact so efficiently distributes GOP voters that last year, President Donald Trump would've won all of the 30 districts where the party hopes to win by at least ten percentage points. cnn.it/4liakAe

Stop letting conveniently confused white women get away with private apologies after causing decades worth of racist harm in less than an hour
Politico just reported that Gillibrand's team claims she "privately" apologized to Zohran Mamdani.

Okay, and? How does this undo any of the damage she caused with her statements? There's not even any public statement, FFS.

I'm calling her office again tomorrow.

If I had said this last year, that Trump would try and deport US citizens in his first year, all Republicans and a nontrivial number of liberals and centrists would have attacked me for behind hyperbolic, and fear-mongering, and of having Trump Derangement Syndrome.

And yet:
Trump calls for deporting US citizens: "We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time ... many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too, if you want to know the truth. So maybe that'll be the next job."

I can’t say it loud enough, FUCK HIM.

Again, this idea that all Trump opposition is just "Trump derangement syndrome" 1) inspires a lot of bait, designed to make liberals angry and generate more bait, and 2) is so hubristic that you can smell the backfire.

The Executive Branch does not have the authority to halt funding - only Congress has that power.
Immediate action should be taken. Not lawsuits that will take months, if not years to have a decision made.

His power only grows by the day. The opposition is nowhere to be found. I fear for our country.

We must fight back.

so i don’t know if susan collins knows this but she belongs to a body that has the constitutionally designated power to tell HHS to stop making these cuts because they do not have the authority to unilaterally refuse to spend congressional appropriations.
Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins slams the Trump admin’s NIH cuts as “poorly conceived” and says she has called RFK to “to express my strong opposition to these arbitrary cuts in funding for vital research.” She says he promised to “re-examine this initiative” if confirmed as HHS secretary.
