Canadian MP Charlie Angus: CNN stated, "Oh, he's just teasing." Teasing about taking over other countries? There's no such thing as "teasing" when you're threatening the sovereignty of independent nations.

Jeffries: In our nation's history, 25% of our nation's debt was accumulated during the four years of the former president, 25%. How dare you lecture America about fiscal responsibility ever.

"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie."

My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false

just blurted out in class "yes, you have to cite where you got your info. in a world in which lying loudly is the only thing that seems to get rewarded, citing your sources is an act of resistance" and folks, I really believe that.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

One of the things you learn as you read the history of the Weimar Republic is that some people saw what was coming but were completely ignored. It's never completely unforeseeable, it's just that most aren't paying attention or are consumed by normalcy bias.

MONTHS AFTER Joe said he would not pardon Hunter, Trump won the election & appointed a man as FBI Director who has spent the last 4 years on every right-wing podcast ranting that he was going to go after Hunter. Obsessed with him. Were you aware of that, critics? Not relevant?

America now is 1932 Weimar Republic of Germany who didn't take Hitler seriously as they appointed him Chancellor. The world did not rid itself of Hitler's terror regime from 1932 until 1946 and only after the death of 11 million people. I am unwilling to be forced into an American NAZIS state.

52 days, bitches, 52 days.

That is all the time it took for Germany’s fledgling democracy, the Weimar Republic, to cave to Hitler’s dictatorship.
They. Really. Are. Planning. To. Burn. It. All. Down 🔥

And two-thirds of US don't give a damn

If you studied the rise of Nazis, you knew it would be this easy, this fast

It's wild that Hallmark shares many of the same story beats of true crime stories.

A lone woman moves to an unfamiliar small town and finds a man who changes her life forever.
