first time I've done a "hello new followers" thing bc I've never had many followers on any platform, but I'm enjoying the high engagement culture of this website. seems that I've appeared on enough starter packs to gain a few followers, so: I'm john.

In newly leaked audio, Peter Thiel admits he urged JD Vance to ignore Pope Leo XIV on moral questions — including the ethical development of AI.

He goes even further, branding Leo “the woke American pope” and suggesting he’s a tool of the Antichrist.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

As an experienced teacher with ADHD, I love how the thread below skillfully pulls apart a WSJ article about how ADHD medication does not fix a disabling neuro developmental disorder.

It's not a choice between medication OR accommodations. These solutions work best together.
this is a parent discovering that

1) Stimulant medication is a treatment rather than a cure

2) ADHD is generally co-morbid with other, likely undiagnosed, disorders
trying to start a moral panic and the stories are all like “the ADHD meds really helped but didn’t solve everything”

the same bucks county that gives me anxiety every 2-4 years? seems significant.
This is pretty amazing. This guy just won a solid victory in Bucks County, PA, one of the most important swing counties in the country, by *explicitly and deliberately* making his race *all about* nationalizing ICE raids. Confirms the point about this now being a winning issue for Dems.

You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.

after watching death by lightning on netflix I've learned that for most of american history it was considered unseemly and tacky for presidential candidates to campaign for themselves. it's not often I look at the 19th century and think to myself "yeah let's bring that back" but here we are.

BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.
