I think that people in this country really need to push themselves to be more social and to combat this avoidance culture that has arisen over the past 2 decades and has been exacerbated by the pandemic.

this is an incredible article and one thing it doesn't cover, which I often think about, is that Oklahoma in the 1910s had one of the most successful socialist parties in any state; one in five Oklahomans was a socialist voter at its peak. the party was racially diverse and socially progressive.
