If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

I thought love would never find me. And then it did and I was blessed to be fully held and loved through these unprecedented times.

This is what’s so funny about rainbow capitalism and corporate blackface: it was never real, actual support but the right and the left can’t help but lose their minds over the fake pendulum swinging. It’s like betting on theatre.

So, just to be clear, nobody has any ability to focus right now, right? It's not just me? Just a fundamental inability to zero in on anything more demanding than, like, video games and Drag Race?

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.

I think a lot of people have mutual aid confused with charity on here, maybe because folks most often see it in the context of fundraiser asks (which are great!).

I want to talk a little about what it looks like in everyday life.

Because we need it more than ever. Government is getting shredded.

I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

Hey, so, the next four years, at a minimum, are going to be bad. There's gonna be a lot going on. You're not going to be able to focus on it all, let alone fix it.

Find one thing that's local to you and focus on that. Don't ignore the rest, but don't stretch yourself thin.

It’s so weird spending 5 years working on something in service to others and then it’s out in the world and you have to spend all your time being like “hey will you buy this and read it bc it’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done and I would hate for it to go to waste” 😂

I really want to know why this feels normal or safe to anyone of the opposite perspective. How are the goals and objectives and the things we’re seeing happen feel like the right direction?
