Dehumanization is the core conceit of apartheid. When you accept the premise that ANY difference can justify cruel disparities in treatment, then you open to door to subjectivity.

If we all agree it's OK sometimes, that leaves us to argue over the conditions under which apartheid is permitted.

What?!?! The EPA has drafted a plan to eliminate all pollution controls from coal and gas-fired power plants. The agency claims these plants “do not contribute significantly” to dangerous pollution or climate change, arguing their emissions are a small and declining share of global totals.
