*LEAVITT: TRUMP DID NOT DIRECT DOJ TO INVESTIGATE POWELL

The only way this could even go anywhere is if Trump marshaled all his will. It's not like there's an independent DOJ who has enough juice to pull this off.

I know this is a trivial point compared to the corruption of the Justice Department and the independence of the Federal Reserve, but I feel the need to say it anyway:

Jeanine Pirro is a complete and utter moron.
NEWS: The NY Times reports that the Trump regime has opened a criminal investigation into Fed Chair Jerome Powell, escalating Trump’s effort to punish an independent central bank for refusing to bend to his political demands. The probe was approved by Trump stooge Jeanine Pirro.

Powell, showing more guts than almost any GOP legislators:

Unfortunately for Powell, the Roberts Supreme Court specifically ruled that the president cannot be legally accused of making a bad-faith, pretextual prosecution, but is “absolutely immune” from any questioning of his motives for investigating or prosecuting whoever he chooses

Let's be clear. Donald Trump will indict the Fed Chair, kidnap foreign leaders and kill American citizens in MN if it distracts you from asking WTF is in the Epstein files because HIS BASE doesn't like pedophiles. None of this is normal. But everything he does is from weakness right now.

And most importantly, public awareness is building and people are exercising their democratic muscle—protesting & building community awareness. As President Biden used to say, it doesn’t take all of us, it just takes enough of us.
I disagree with the suggestion in the NYT story today that rule of law is not working to stop Trump

Yes the "Trump judges" have been disproportionately bad, but the overall win rate of over 60% or >320 wins is still EXTRAORDINARY

And the wins in the most important areas have been even bigger👇

An initially-secret report for Customs and Border Patrol in 2013 found:

In many vehicle shooting cases, the “driver was attempting to flee from the agents who intentionally put themselves into the exit path of the vehicle, thereby … creating justification for the use of deadly force.”

This is the way and every single Democrat should be on board.

It won't get anywhere before the midterms, but it will make the midterms easier for Democrats to win and easier to take action on these promises once they do.

Be the party of accountability. Own that space, starting now.

The day after Renee Nicole Good’s death, Kristi Noem quietly ordered new restrictions on congressional visits to immigration detention facilities.

That order, revealed in court late Saturday, forces lawmakers to seek a week's advance notice before conducting oversight visits to ICE facilities.

The tl;dr of this report is not that these administration officials are upset about ICE having murdered Renee Good; it's that even these goons realize Noem's lies about the murder were so poorly crafted that people aren't going to believe all the other lies the administration tells the public.

1. ICE’s own photos
2. Bystander video
3. Lawyer for another immigrant at the scene

Renee Good’s last words were to ICE agent Jonathan Ross: “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.” Then Ross shot Renee three times in the face. As she was dying, his last words to her were: “Fucking bitch.” And JD Vance thought that exchange exonerated ICE. That says it all.
