People have to do jail time. Powerful people, who thought they were untouchable. They have to be arrested, tried, stripped of assets relating to their crimes, and sent to jail.

Because if it doesn't happen, it will prove to voters that democracy is a sham.

And then we're seriously fucked.

We do not want police carrying guns in the UK. We do not want to see the hate and fear in the USA come here

Farage may talk the talk but he doesn’t turn up for the day job and he doesn’t deliver. Turning things around requires work day in, day out not slogans and false promises

Don’t fall for it
Nigel Farage wants every police officer in the UK to carry a gun.

Don't let him turn Britain into his version of Trump's America.

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

The execution of Alex Pretti is playing so badly because you can look at his actions and life story - his last act was helping, boy scout, athlete, health care worker to veterans - and compare those to the men who killed him and know which you would want to be your son, brother, father, uncle.

Tory MP Simon Hoare has given a very vivid quote about Donald Trump's comments on Nato allies, which could actually be used in many contexts about the US president:

"Frankly Trump makes my flesh creep and my stomach turn. Where are his advisors? Where is his nurse? Where is his sense of shame?"

Given the wobbles in the bond market Trump should remember that there are two institutional investors you need to keep onside. Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Fund. Whoops.

It’s a real shame that Nigel Farage is too unwell to do interviews the morning after Donald Trump threatens us with sanctions.

Here he is with “the bravest man he ever met”. He campaigned to make Trump President, and has spent the last year enjoying all the chaos he has caused.

He's entitled to his view but as an outsider looking in, I follow @europeanpowell.bsky.social who produces some great insights into that area. And the jaw-dropping dividends being divvied out.

They remind me of how the english water companies managed to fleece taxpayers too.

Sorry Kemi, just checking - child porn is ok if it's made by companies, yes?

Wow. And there was me thinking child sex abuse was horrific, but it turns out all a paedophile ring needs to do to make their activities acceptable is apply to Companies House.

*Next week: Should kiddie porn attract VAT?*
Kemi going to bat for the non-consensual, violent, child porn app formerly known as X.

Right, so if I get this right, the official position of the UK Conservative Party is that child sex abuse material is fine as long as your social media site that is generating it from pictures of clothed children can't be accessed by children and the people asking for it are paying for the privelege

I’d’ve thought that creating a tool (Grok) that strips children, women and men and desecrates victims of the holocaust or shootings …and then refusing to stop it would not bode well for his application in child custody applications

Absolutely this ⬇️
I cannot stress enough that if X gets banned in the UK, it is not an assault on Freedom of Speech - it is the consequence of a platform that has allowed the mass creation of non-consensual sexual imagery of women and children which, in the UK is illegal.

So this is actually my Libdem MP!
It’s always the Libdems taking on the far right atm
It’s always always women having to fight against our sexual exploitation and misogyny
Note Farage’s reply. Shows exactly what he thinks about our rights, ladies. And what a nasty greedy grifting b’stard he is.

Yes, JD. Let’s ask them if they think a stay at home mom, avowed Christian, and widow of a veteran deserved to be shot in the face and left to bleed out in her own car after dropping her 6-year-old off at school, for the crime of looking out for her neighbors. Let’s ask everyone running for office.
