@wbs3.bsky.social
@dgoold.bsky.social good morning. I listened to your most recent BPIB. One issue that I think goes unaddressed in the discussion about stars moving to the coasts: don't the teams, and to a lesser extent the markets, in the middle have a duty to make their situations more attractive?

@celebrityhottub.bsky.social Was really disappointed that nobody had as 4th choice for unimaginative Penn St. head coach James Franklin.

@murray.senate.gov @wyden.senate.gov vote Shumer out. Get new leadership.
The plan is that at least 8 Ds vote *for* cloture, then offer amendments to "improve" the CR which will fail, then cast a meaningless vote against the CR.

“we won’t put a stop to The Elon Show, that’s non-negotiable” - great, then you won’t get our fucking votes, you’ll have to find another way

this is not even kind of hard
the best concrete results will be generated by sinking donald trump and elon musk, and the clearest path to that is to actually resist everything they propose by voting no and pointing out that republicans control the government

This is exactly right.
Dems can actually win the messaging battle, because people ALREADY associate Trump/Musk with shutting down the government *and* because the GOP controls both Houses.

In the meantime, voting for this CR will do a LOT of damage.
Spoke to several Hill sources this morning and it's more or less my understanding that Dem leaders don't want members interrupting Republicans while they're setting their own hair on fire. Trump is going to tag them with the fallout either way. The phrase I keep hearing is "keep your powder dry."

i think shutting the government down is preferably to nullifying article i of the constitution
The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

This, precisely, is what I think Dem voters want from their representatives: direct confrontation with people who are used to bullying others both as a matter of substance and style. You don't have to back down to these fucking clowns.
Texas Republican Keithself storms out of the meeting he's supposed to be running because a Democrat asked him to treat his colleague Sarah McBride with respect. These people would not last one day as a trans person.

If we lived in a world that was half just, this would be the official leader of the Democratic Party.
@aoc.bsky.social: "Listen, if your representative is not doing a town hall, give me a ring... I'll say it right here, right now: if a deep red Republican district wants to have an honest conversation, even if it's with someone they disagree with, I'm willing to do that."

After Green interrupted last night, another Democrat should have done the same thing. And then another, until all of them had to be removed. Delay the speech by a few hours. Or walk out en masse. Anything.

Calling Trump an existential threat means nothing if you can’t meet the fucking moment.

Once again, I don't know what anyone has seen these last five weeks to believe that the 2028 elections are going to be free, fair, and competitive.
Ladies and gentlemen, a tweet from a senator who—like all other U.S. senators—swore to "bear true faith and allegiance" to the Constitution, and to "support and defend" it.

Thank you to everyone who joined tonight's town hall and asked such thoughtful questions. Oregonians are terrified about what Trump's lawlessness means for them and for America. I'm focused on making sure Republicans will have to answer for how they're hurting you and your family.
Reminder that instead of attending Donald Trump's first address to Congress tonight I'll be hosting an open-to-all town hall on Facebook live at 6 PM PT. You don't need a Facebook account – or to be an Oregonian – to tune in. Look forward to seeing you all soon.
