Good luck to all of the brave saboteurs and monitors going out to protect wildlife from the hunts tomorrow.

And shame on all of the pathetic cowards who will be trying to kill foxes this Boxing Day and for every person watching on.

So yesterday a reporter asked Donald Trump about the writ of habeas corpus, and he had no idea what it was.

"I don't know," he said. "I'd rather leave that to Kristi."

Well, It turns out Sen. Hassan asked Kristi Noem about it in May, and this was Noem's response:
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

It turns out this Truth Social post from Trump was meant to be a DM to Pam Bondi directing her to prosecute James Comey. OOPS. Can we somehow blame this on Joe Biden?

We have all become addicted to drama, scandal & hyperbole. Some of us are trying to wean ourselves off it & focus on stuff like this. But it can sometimes feel like being a vegetarian at a barbecue.
At the risk of sounding like a government spokesperson, I wonder if we're too gloomy. NHS waiting times are falling, as are net migration numbers. Growth hasn't been fast, but it's improved. Real wages are growing. Inflation is a bit sticky, but much reduced.

An international wildlife treaty has ordered the UK to end the badger cull.

The Bern Convention says Defra’s excuses don’t wash — financial reasons and outdated science can’t justify the slaughter of nearly 250,000 badgers.

The massacre must end.

ICYMI from yesterday: more evidence that the UK news media is a racism factory, deliberately training the public to be more bigoted. This is the intended outcome of editorial policy at the behest of media owners and operators for political ends.

But the rich and powerful carved it up, waged war on what they couldn’t own, called it scarcity
