How many cities helped this along by closing public schools, and allowing charter schools to expand and fold?
Among the Education Department’s new appointees is Lindsey Burke, the lead author of Project 2025’s education section.

She envisions dramatic enrollment declines for public schools: “We’re going to have a lot of empty school buildings.”

I never saw that movie the same once I first saw the plot hole:

Craig and Smokey needed EIGHTY dollars, not $200. They needed a TOTAL of $200, yes, but Smokey started with $100 and made $20 from Hector. That's $120.
Naw the real wild shit is that Big Worm was gonna smoke two people over $200. That’s $425 adjusted for inflation. Imagine two life sentences for less than 1/4 of a covid check?
This movie is so much funnier when you realize that Craig, literally, lost his job the day before. 😭

Fwiw, he wouldn't have been able to pass on the title upon his death, anyway.

This is just buck-passing to move the spotlight.

Being stupid enough to document it is the culture of Trump, whose only innovation was to say the quiet part loud.

But this has been the core of Republican ideology in particular since 1968 and of white America in general since the very outset.
This is the culture of Trump. It's a disease that will outlast him.
POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

This being y'all's TikTok deal-breaker is gonna be hilarious.
Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

It just occurred to me that the Democrats missed a trick. Instead of trying to (ineffectively) make a case against authoritarianism, they should've just told white Americans that "this will been you'll get treated like you're an n-word."

They'd have understood that.
My favorite armchair comment is Americans don‘t understand authoritarianism, because so many of you don’t count Black people as Americans. Learn the history or shut up.

Point blank, I would rather read it in two to three minutes then have to sit through a 4-5 minute video of someone explaining some shit to me. Just give me the text. I actually get kind of pissed off when the only way that I can get an answer to something is to watch a video.

"Letter from a Birmingham Jail"
Saving America from Trump and preserving our democracy explicitly requires that people who voted for Trump change their mind. Which in turn requires that those who didn’t vote for Trump show grace and empathy to those whose change of heart came from being hurt by the guy they voted for…

Sports gambling is so dangerous now because it’s too accessible.

You used to have to know a guy who knew a guy that took you to the basement of a seedy hole in the wall bar where you made your bets. Now it’s 3 clicks from your couch and you’ve signed your life away.

White people could actually take care of this at any time.
What if, instead of letting this gang of amoral bigots, perverts, and criminals destroy our country, we scoured them out of public life, put them in jail, purged them from our society, and went back to the functional, pleasant United States of 10 years ago?

a pretty good summary of the 21st century is that the humiliation of america's defeats in the middle east post-9/11 curdled into a reactionary politics that seeks affirmation in the humiliation of anyone who is an other: liberals, minorities, the global south, china, europe, whoever.

Black people told y’all that race was the foundation of all of this bullshit. And as usual we were dismissed, condescended to, and told we were wrong.

And yet this administration keeps showing us what time it is. Just an observation.
