SMH management still has not explained why they deleted this piece.

Their silence suggests that the pro-Israel lobby is driving editorial policy.

Just as the outrageous impending visit of Israeli President and war criminal Herzog confirms they are driving Australian foreign policy. #auspol
On Wednesday the Sydney Morning Herald published an opinion piece by Cumberland City councillor Ahmed Ouf about Muslim-Jewish solidarity in the wake of Bondi.

The piece was quickly taken down.

We're publishing it here in full.

“After a 10-month exhaustive, rigorous investigative process, I have been cleared of all allegations raised against me & my employment suspension has been lifted & my ARC Future Fellowship reinstated”

Pretty poor to subject a scholar on a prestigious Future Fellowship to this on such flimsy grounds

Just a reminder: you are NOT unusual, weird, or unlovable if you have:

- no one to see on Christmas Day,
- no presents, or
- no contactable relatives.

Very few people live the idealised version on TV. Those of us who live differently—whether by choice or trauma—matter as much.

NEW: last night, the US govt launched an assault on the ‘global censorship industrial complex’, aka European tech researchers/campaigners.

It’s a deeply chilling move & speaks as to why we need international solidarity more than ever.

When do you think Albanese will realise there’s no placating these people? News Corp pays no tax and adds nothing to Aus society apart from hate, but Labor acts as if it owns them.
Instead of fighting back or standing up for themselves, Albanese and co are like “please sir can I have some more?”

Everyone has their favourite writers and commentators on particular topics. And when it comes to Australian politics, mine are very easy to nominate; Amy Remeikis, Dave Milner and Ronni Salt. If you're not familiar with their work, do yourself a favour, they're all outstanding.

I wonder how long before that flips completely, and there's a big market for people who still have basic creative and research skills

To be clear, anti-semitism or any kind of racism/hatred is vile and evil.

But what’s happening in this country right now is something else again.

If you believe the answer is to silence people who are simply against genocide, the arseholes win.

It’s about humanity…here, in Gaza, everywhere.

This is about all protest and all free expression, from here on out. Our establishment knows social discontent will only grow as the climate worsens, the slaughters continue, and the rich extract harder. They're not fixing anything, and they don't want you to be able to resist.
