Alaska Junction not having a library is bananas. Had to go from there to Admiral Junction last week just to return a book.

Uptown and North Downtown need a library. Eastlake needs a library. Georgetown needs a library. Madison Valley/Park needs a library. Alaska Junction needs a library. Ballard needs more than one library.

SDOT is officially opening the E Marginal Way bike lanes tomorrow - everything north of S Horton Street.

The street won't open to two-way vehicle traffic until next week, so enjoy this weekend.

How would you want California Ave to be reconfigured through our neighborhood centers?

Personally I'd love to only have the center turn lane at signalized intersections, making room for protected bike lanes.

The "Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future" PAC has raised more money from Medina residents than the "Katie Wilson for an Affordable Seattle" PAC has raised overall.
typewriteralley.bsky.social
Bruce Harrell's campaign is fundraising on the need to "fight back against the influence of outside money."

The PAC set up to spend on Harrell's behalf has raised $1.2 million so far, compared to the $86,000 raised by the PAC set up for spend in support of Katie Wilson.
I have some big news to share.

Because our opponent is benefiting from outside spending on her behalf, the Seattle Ethics & Elections Commission has lifted the Democracy Vouchers fundraising cap for our campaign. That means Bruce’s can once again raise contributions to power our grassroots campaign.

This is a critical moment. Over the next month, we need to make sure Bruce has the resources to get his message out and fight back against the influence of outside money. With your support, we can keep pushing forward with Bruce’s vision for a safer, more affordable, and more unified Seattle.

This is big news: Sound Transit is proposing to launch a new overnight ST Express network, once Federal Way and East Link are both fully operational.

There would be three routes: Everett-Seattle, Lakewood-SeaTac-Seattle, and Redmond-Seattle. Headways are still TBD, but expected to be around 30 min.
Overnight Service Proposal
Purpose & Goals
• Provide overnight bus service along Link lines and
core ST Express network.
• Serve riders and destinations with continuous or nontraditional need, such as hospitals and the airport.
• Combined with Metro’s late-night network, 85% of
Link station areas would be served all day and all
night.
Service Proposal
• Three routes: Everett-Seattle, Lakewood-SEA-Seattle,
and Redmond-Seattle
• Service from approx. midnight to 5 a.m., 7 days/wk;
could also support Link maintenance window expansion
• Headways: 15-60min

These are some of the hardest working people we can have in our city. I’m going to trust the medical assistant, bike mechanic, vet tech, socal worker, etc to be a responsible, interesting, and welcome neighbor. And my community council is sick of me saying this out loud.

I'm watching a Seattle City Council budget hearing for the office of housing, and they're discussing "good neighbor agreements" for new affordable housing. The idea is that people who can't afford market-rate apartments ($2,000+) or houses (median ~$1 million) will be bad neighbors if not controlled

Katie Wilson's the kind of mensch you wish was mayor of your town, and the good news is: She very well could be! Katie's running for mayor of Seattle, with ACTUAL GOOD IDEAS to make your life better. I helped shoot this video for her, and oh boy am I crossing all my fingers for a win this November.

We should be solving our problems, not spraying them away. That’s why I’m fighting for clean, accessible, and safe bathrooms for our city. Whether you’re the Big Dumper or a mom with a toddler, you shouldn’t have to scour the city for a place to poop. #thisisyourcity

Happy day 1 of Week Without Driving.

After a long day of running errands on transit, I'm taking a long walk through Interlaken Park to get to the Capitol Hill Community Council's candidate forum at the relatively remote Montlake Community Center from the Route 12.

First day of #weekwithoutdriving, took my dog on light rail to doggie daycare and then light rail up to Northgate. I got to walk across the John Lewis Memorial Bridge. Felt special as I helped SDOT negotiate real property agreements with Seattle Colleges and WSDOT on this bridge project years ago.

🚶🚲🚌🦼 Over 30% of King County residents don’t drive—and yet most of our transportation system is built for those who do. That’s why the King County Council has proclaimed Sept. 30-Oct 5 the Week Without Driving—to better understand and address these challenges. #WeekWithoutDriving

We are fighting back to counter this spending. We don't need to outraise them but we do need enough to get Katie's message out. We know it is popular and if enough people hear it she will win.

I made my biggest political contribution ever, can you join me?
