I read a book on making money in ancient Athens recently (by Michael Leese, it's great), and the Greeks absolutely believed that the endless pursuit of wealth was a serious moral defect and personality issue no different than being a drunk or sexual deviant.
If you make a billion dollars — or $500 million or even $100 million dollars — and you keep trying to make more, then there is something seriously wrong with you. It's a mental illness akin to hoarding or drug addiction.

The whinging that cryptobros exhibit over their delusions of persecution never cease to amaze me. You won the GENIUS Act! Most mainstream coverage of crypto adopts industry framing at minimum! "Big Consumer" doesn't have a campaign war chest! What a bunch of cringey sore winners.
The only thing giving me hope right now is that non-political normies in my life that don't really follow the news are going out of their way to say they don't like Trump, won't consider voting for a Republican (ever/again), and similar statements they'd previously avoid for being too political.
