The world of psychedelics is vast, diverse, and humbling. Each medicine carries its own spirit, its own fingerprint, and its own history of use. And while you don’t need to know the pharmacology to benefit from them, it helps to understand the basics.

Needed a desk on top of my desk to keep my trouble-making, too-smart-for-her-own-good cat out from behind my monitors and computer tower.
Went to the second hand store and found exactly what I needed. No searching, no waiting.

Here is what I do on those days that my body says "Nope" and I can't do much more than lie in bed:
Yoga Nidra.
Ok, what is Yoga Nidra, you ask?The Sanskrit word yoga means “union” or “one-pointed awareness.” Nidra means “sleep.”

The plant you didn't realize was psychedelic...
Can you guess what it is?
If you said pot, marijuana, weed, then you are correct!

There’s a lot we don’t understand about why psychedelics work—especially with microdosing. Some researchers argue the benefits are “just placebo.”
But so are many of the effects of SSRIs, pain meds, and even surgery. Placebo isn’t just a sugar pill. It’s the healing power of belief.

The clinical model works for many things. Broken bones. Cuts. Emergency care. But when it comes to healing the psyche, the soul, or the chronic emotional and physical wounds of trauma and stress… it gets murky.

"Absent a concrete plan to address the fact that Donald Trump clearly does not intend to leave office voluntarily, the focus on symbolic, legalistic, and inconsequential protest can only be self-defeating."

We’re taught to see value through the lens of scarcity; if it isn’t highly priced, it must not be worth much.
But Seeds of Change is not free. It’s gifted. It’s rooted in reciprocity, where you offer something true—your story, your reflection, your presence—and receive care in return.

Spoonies are experts in coping. We ration spoons, map our lives around flares, learn to adapt in ways most people never notice.
But coping isn’t the same as healing.

What’s important to realize here is that stress is not just “in your head.” It physically changes your brain, your body, and even the way you interact with the world.
