Wow, you think they will?

Great idea, senior Labour figures

Kings and queens.

Things that turn out to be a lot more scarce in real life than you’re led to believe as a child, through kids’ books, TV, illustrations etc. I’ll start.

WINDMILLS.

I must have been a teenager by the time I saw one in the flesh. (Prob does not apply if you’re from East Anglia or the Netherlands.)

I think he might be overpowered in real life.

I wrote misle at school once, that saved me.

This is really true for me. It's not that I don't recognize each one, it's that they all blur into one very quickly and it reduces how bad it all seems.

A lot of people who are incredibly shrewd critical thinkers when someone posts a cute but improbable story, have a hard time recognizing when they’re being snowed by every piece of propaganda and outrage manufacturing they see in the news and online.

This is a clear description of the situation. I am a pragmatic voter but this is no way for Labour to succeed.

Podman tries quite hard to choose innocuous names, but I did have to look at this one twice.

Sure no problem

Ok, thank you, let me know if I might have a chance. I'm happy to take them all that helps.
wllrg.rs
Did these ever go? I would love them and I'm very happy to donate generously.

But what happened to Russia?
wllrg.rs
This is really important to remember. If exactly the same things happened under a democratic president there would be constant self-righteous fury. And I find it hard to express how hypocritical it is.

The totalitarian levels of bad faith and disingenuousness from MAGA is funny at one level but also deeply depressing because it’s the foundation for all this and until it cracks, I’m not quite sure how we get out alive.

But. Supposing it was all going to come crashing down, the first two days might look like this.

This is basically equivalent to what Liz Truss did, in that it just makes no sense, but if you're in charge of the biggest economy in the world you might be able to ride it out.

Incredible. The Trump administration calculated "tariff rates" by taking the US trade deficit with the respective country and dividing it by the country's exports to the US. And then the tariff rate of the US is often just set by cutting that made-up "tariff rate" in half.

I'm very conscious that this is my job now.

But then I suppose they made this whisky in 2013.

This is great.

✅ Hate "No ball games" signs
✅ No longer policy
✅ Took them down
✅ Recycled

I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?

The Times crossword is straightforward and keeps to the rules, but it varies in difficulty and can be quite hard. Azed is not for beginners!

You should really try the Times Quick Cryptic if you want a starting place.

This looks like the best case scenario now.

That is exactly how I think of Trump. It's a good way to explain his behaviour.
wllrg.rs
It is all deeply hypocritical, and it's important to remember that when presented with endless pseudo-intellectual defences.

“Under Donald Trump’s leadership, we may disagree with your views, but we will defend your right to offer it in the public square – agree or disagree.”

But the AP is banned from the Oval Office for calling the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of Mexico.

JD Vance’s Munich speech laid bare the collapse of the transatlantic alliance
The US vice-president was hypocritical and insensitive, but bracingly clear in his resetting of relationships

This is sophistry, finding ways to say indefensible things in plausible ways. Trump doesn't bother, but that's basically all that's left for Republicans. So that's what they do.

It seems that Vance rather enjoys it.

Still internalising the Vance Munich speech. A sitting Vice President goes to Europe, barely says a word about the despotic murderous regime which has invaded its neighbour, and instead lectures his allies about freedom of speech. It’d be funny if it weren’t so serious.
