"The military operation which led to the capture of Nicolas Maduro runs counter to the principle of peaceful dispute resolution and the principle of non use of force. Violations of the UN Charter... chips away at the very foundation of the international order."

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

Stephen Miller, who wants the U.S. to steal Greenland and shake down Latin America, says: ”We live in a world … that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
That‘s a criminal pretending that a civilized world is impossible.

I state my horror at USA’s invasion of Venezuela. I demand Australia distance itself from the rogue, imperialist belligerent US.
Call in US officials & tell them to we won’t accept invasion of sovereign nations or the overthrow of their governments. This hegemony must end.

Absolutely insane to see so many posts today claiming Trump’s decision to grab Maduro in Venezuela will somehow embolden Putin to do likewise in Ukraine.

NEWSFLASH: Putin has already been trying to kill Zelenskyy since the very start of the invasion and has utter contempt for international law

Now that 'we' are 'running' Venezuela, what’s actually being done for the people? Over half the country lives in extreme poverty and needs immediate help. Millions are without shelter, healthcare, or protection from violence. Is anyone actually going to 'run' towards helping them?

The US invasion of Venezuela is against international law and it is against US law. It represents a monumental breakdown of rules-based order. Failure to condemn it in the strongest terms possible – and failure to impeach and convict Trump is to be complicit with his barbarism and despotism.

The US is likely to have violated the terms of the UN charter, signed in 1945. A central provision of this agreement – known as article 2(4) – rules that states must refrain from using military force against other countries and must respect their sovereignty.

Why cancervatives hate public school history classes.

U.S. companies never owned oil or land in Venezuela, home to the world’s largest proven reserves of crude, and officials didn’t kick them out of the country.

@albomp.bsky.social Nothing to fear from your enemies when you have allies like the USA and Israel. If the world at large fails to condemn the attack on Venezuela Trump will be emboldened. Panama, Columbia, Cuba, Iran, Greenland. We need immediate unequivocal and ubiquitous condemnation.

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.
